Personal Statement

My law practice and law office are unique.  My family and I live in Heathrow Woods subdivision located close to Interstate 4, Orlando's main traffic artery.  In 1991 I built a separate building, about 1,000 square feet in size, next to our home which I have used exclusively for my law office.  I don't commute and I don't wear a suit and tie to work.  Most attorneys I know told me that a law office next to my house would not work, but they were very wrong. My office address is 274 Kipling Court, Heathrow, Florida 32746, and because my office is next to my home, appointments are required.

My staff includes my paralegal, Jackie, and an assistant legal secretary we call “File Girl” (a/k/a Sarah).  Jackie and File Girl have their own office which they share with our "office dogs" Stoli and Tanqueray. Jackie has over 30 years experience as a legal secretary/paralegal and is a Florida Registered Paralegal. She has worked for me for over 12 years. File Girl initially worked part-time when she was in high school to assist Jackie with filing and copying. She is now a full-time legal secretary. Stoli has been with the firm for 11 years serving primarily as unlicensed therapist for clients and staff.  Tanqueray is our newest addition -- and is still in training to become an "office dog."

My law practice focuses on asset protection and consumer bankruptcy.  Most of my clients are concerned about problems with creditors, potential lawsuits, and how an adverse judgment will affect their family's future.  I find this work interesting and challenging because it requires knowledge and integration of several different areas of the law including creditor rights, bankruptcy law, general corporate law, estate planning, and taxation.  I feel a sense of accomplishment whenever I assist my clients in protecting themselves against their adversaries and ease their legal worries.

I provide most legal services on a fixed-fee basis so clients know in advance the cost of accomplishing their goals.  The most rewarding aspect of being an attorney is my clients' appreciation and satisfaction.

I welcome any general questions by email about asset protection material published on this website. However,  I cannot give legal advice about specific fact situations to people who are not clients. If you need legal advice about your particular situation I offer asset protection analysis and recommendations by appointment either in person or by telephone for a fixed fee.  I provide a free initial telephone consultation to prospective bankruptcy clients who want to file bankruptcy in the Orlando bankruptcy court.

Please read the Contact Us page on the website before you send me a question by e-mail. The Contact Us page explains my policies about providing answers and legal advice to website readers.
