Creating an Offshore Trust

STEP 1

Phone or Zoom Consultation

We’ll review your situation and how an offshore trust may help you. Then, we prepare the trust application and associated forms.

STEP 2

Create the Trust

We will draft the trust agreement and customize it to your specific situation. Once signed, the offshore trustee company will register the trust.

STEP 3

Fund the Trust

You’ll work with the trustee company to select appropriate offshore banking or brokerage accounts. We’ll advise how to transfer other assets to the trust structure.

We charge a base fee of $15,000 to set up an offshore trust. Additional customizations sometimes increase the cost.

We only work with longstanding trustee companies that meet all of the legal requirements to be registered trust companies in the Cook Islands. These requirements include minimum capital and ensure the trust assets are professionally managed.

The offshore trust companies we work with carry professional indemnity insurance for over $5 million per claim. The insurance policies are underwritten by Lloyds in the UK.
